Job Description
Position Summary
The Aircraft Assembler plays a key role in the production and assembly of aircraft components, ensuring that all assemblies meet strict regulatory and quality standards. This position involves working from blueprints and technical drawings to install, fit, and assemble structural components, mechanical systems, and subassemblies for commercial or private aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, work orders, and build instructions for assembling aircraft components.
- Assemble fuselages, wings, control surfaces, landing gear, interior components, and other structures using both manual and power tools.
- Perform precision fitting, drilling, riveting, torquing, and sealing tasks following approved processes.
- Use jigs, fixtures, and templates to ensure alignment and accuracy during assembly.
- Install mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, or flight control components (if required by role).
- Perform quality inspections at each stage of assembly to ensure conformance with aerospace standards.
- Complete detailed documentation of all work performed and maintain traceability.
- Identify and report any non-conformances, defects, or process issues to supervisors or quality control teams.
- Adhere to safety protocols, aerospace regulations, and cleanroom procedures as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma in aircraft maintenance, manufacturing, or related trade is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience using hand tools, torque wrenches, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and mechanical aptitude.
Additional Assets
- Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
- WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, and Fall Protection certifications (or willingness to complete).
- Experience with composite materials, sheet metal, or electrical assemblies in aviation.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced production floor or hangar environment
- Use of PPE and compliance with aerospace safety standards
- Standing, bending, and working with arms overhead for extended periods
- May involve shift work or overtime depending on production schedules
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.64-$30.14 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Additional pay:
- Overtime pay
