Job Description


Reporting to the IT Manager, for contributing to and being responsible for the design, development, maintenance and support of the Manufacturing Execution and related Systems (MES). 

 

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collect and document business requirements as needed.
  • Design and develop solutions to meet established requirements utilizing the most appropriate development methodology.
  • Analyze, code, test, and debug applications.
  • Maintain and modify programs as required, including after-hours support as needed.
  • Create tools or queries to obtain data for the purposes of reporting and analysis
  • Deliver required technical documentation
  • Assist other IT personnel as needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Other tasks as determined by the IT Manager
  • Adhere to and comply with all applicable company policies and procedures
  • Participate in meetings and committees as required, to facilitate effective communication between different groups

 

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Participating in meetings and committees to communicate information and serve as a liaison with other departments and managers
  • Conferring with supervisors and operators in order to report equipment malfunctions and resolve production problems;
  • Compliance to Environmental Health and safety standards and engagement with EHS program and duties as assigned;
  • Provide coaching and expertise to other members by sharing expertise and working as a team to meet common business objectives;
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency and cost savings,

 

Educational and Experience Requirements for this position:
  • Successful completion of a three (3) Community College Program in Computer Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-years’ experience developing manufacturing solutions

Proven report writing ability

Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • C# /VB.NET, ASP.NET (2008 or 2010), Visual Basic
  • Software Development Life Cycle, Object-Oriented Design and Programming
  • SQL Server 2012
  • Visual Studio 2012
  • Mobile Development for Hand Scanners
  • Strong technical, logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to work in a team environment, as well as individually
  • MS Excel, MS Access
  • AS/400 an asset

Satisfactory criminal reference check in accordance with the company’ s policy

  • Willingness to be actively involved in problem-solving activities following effective and proven methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis;
  • Willingness to embrace new challenges
