Job Description

Position Overview: An Onsite Construction Supervisor oversees the daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves managing construction crews, coordinating tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations. Additionally, the supervisor participates in hands-on construction activities as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Construction Activities: Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring all work is performed according to plans and specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Team Management: Manage and instruct site workers, set schedules, and monitor performance.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Resource Coordination: Order and manage construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and proper maintenance.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the site workers, project managers, and external contractors.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise on-site, including delays, emergencies, or other disruptions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, employee attendance, and progress reports.
  • Hands-On Construction: Participate in construction activities, including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical work, to support the team and ensure project timelines are met.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in construction management or a similar role, typically 3-5 years.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or OSHA safety certification are advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
Additional Duties:
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide detailed updates to project stakeholders on construction progress and strategies.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes and regulations.
