Material Handler
Job Description
We are currently hiring reliable and safety-focused Material Handlers to join our client’s manufacturing team. These hands-on roles are ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced industrial environment and have experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes. You’ll play an important role in supporting production, preparing materials, and ensuring orders are completed accurately and safely.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret work orders, bar lists, and tags
- Tag, bundle, and prepare finished materials for shipping or storage
- Load and unload raw materials and finished goods
- Receive, organize, and stage materials for production
- Package and label products for customer delivery
- Maintain accurate inventory and production records
- Support shipping, dispatch, and other service centre functions as needed
Safety & Quality
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality and compliance
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- Wear required PPE at all times (provided)
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in material handling, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes (certification an asset)
- Ability to read blueprints, bar lists, and work orders
- Physically able to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
- Team players with good communication skills
- Able to pass a criminal background check, medical exam, and drug screening
Working Conditions
- Industrial manufacturing environment (noise, dust, heavy materials)
- PPE required and provided
- Overtime or shift flexibility may be required based on production needs

In February 2017, I was contacted by EPC for an admin position with a company in Niagara Falls. I accepted the position and was employed there for three months.
