Job Description
Our client is seeking four motivated and reliable Temporary Rebar Laborers to join their team at the Bowmanville location. Successful candidates will support the Rebar team by assisting with various industrial and construction tasks. Training will be provided for operating overhead cranes and other machinery as needed. This is a physically demanding role requiring individuals who are comfortable working in industrial environments and committed to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate or learn to operate industrial machinery and tools safely and efficiently, including overhead cranes (training provided).
- Assist with rebar production and other related tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Work safely while adhering to company policies and safety protocols, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors immediately.
- Perform basic measurement and math tasks, including reading tape measures and calculating lengths and fractions.
- Maintain good communication and teamwork with other team members to ensure project success.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to safely operate or willingness to be trained on industrial machinery such as overhead cranes.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Experience working in non-climate-controlled environments.
- Basic math skills including measurement reading and simple calculations.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments preferred, especially with crane or forklift operation.
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and commitment to workplace safety.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Completion and verification of a clear criminal record check.
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical and drug screening coordinated by our client.
Wage: $22.75/hr for day shift. Afternoon Shift Premium: $0.60/hour. Night Shift Premium: $0.75/hour
Shifts: straight nights 11pm to 7am. Training will be over 6 to 8 weeks during the day and afternoon shifts.
