Set-up Technician
Job Description
A plastics manufacturing company is looking for a mechanically inclined worker looking to gain fulltime employment and experience as a set-up technician for plastic injection molding machines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up plastic injection molding machines and other manufacturing equipment
- Program and troubleshoot to ensure proper machine function.
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measurement devices for precise adjustments and quality inspection.
- Conduct mechanical inspections and perform routine maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime.
- Assist in assembly processes as needed, ensuring components meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to optimize setup procedures following lean manufacturing principles.
- Document setup procedures, machine parameters, and inspection results accurately for process improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- experience in manufacturing environments preferred
- Skilled in using hand tools required. Ability to learn calipers and adjustment equipment
- Basic math for measurements and adjustments required
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to improve setup efficiency is an asset
- Experience with quality inspection processes to ensure product standards are met is an asset
- Knowledge of assembly processes relevant to manufacturing operations is an asset
Schedule: Rotating every 2 weeks between Midnights (12am to 8:15am), Afternoons (4pm to 12:15am) and Days (8am to 4:15pm). Weekdays
Wage: $17.60/hr
