This opportunity begins as a temporary contract, with the potential for extension based on business needs.<br /> <br />Job Responsibilities:</p>  <ul>  <li>Select appropriate quantity, length and gauge of rebar as required for structure being assembled.</li>  <li>Utilize measuring instruments â tape measure, straight edge, laser sight, jig as required to properly locate and space rebar.</li>  <li>Weld rebar. Tack welding. Responsible to reload weld wire and change and maintain weld tips to ensure weld quality is consistent.</li>  <li>Operate overhead crane once properly certified in crane use.</li>  <li>Must be able to work and operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure machine guards are in place and material handled in a safe manner. Must wear appropriate safety equipment as specified.</li>  <li>Be able to detect faulty operation of equipment being used as well as faulty material.</li>  <li>As required, sort and rework defective material, repack and dispose of scrap.</li>  <li>Always maintain a clean and organized work area.</li>  </ul>  <p><br />Job Requirements:</p>  <ul>  <li>Must be capable of repeated standing, walking, carrying, bending and lifting.</li>  <li>Frequent lifting of weights up to 50 lbs. Weights considered to be above the individualâs ability to lift safely are to be lifted using an overhead crane or lifted with a partner.</li>  <li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints.</li>  <li>Working in a non-climate controlled environment.</li>  <li>Applicants can have either welding work experience, welding schooling or valid tickets. They do not need to have all to apply.</li>  <li>Must be able to work all shifts, days and afternoons. Our client is seeking&nbsp;motivated and reliable Temporary Production Labourers to join their team at the Fort Erie location. Successful candidates will support the Rebar team by assisting with various industrial and construction tasks. Training will be provided for operating overhead cranes and other machinery as needed. This is a physically demanding role requiring individuals who are comfortable working in industrial environments and committed to safety.<br> 

<br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br> 

<ul>
&#9;<li>Operate or learn to operate industrial machinery and tools safely and efficiently, including overhead cranes (training provided).
&#9;<li>Assist with rebar installation and other related tasks as directed by supervisors.
&#9;<li>Work safely while adhering to company policies and safety protocols, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
&#9;<li>Report unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors immediately.
&#9;<li>Perform basic measurement and math tasks, including reading tape measures and calculating lengths and fractions.
&#9;<li>Maintain good communication and teamwork with other team members to ensure project success.

<br><strong>Key Requirements:</strong><br>

<br><strong>Do you have what it takes?</strong><br> 

<br>As an AZ Driver, youâll be responsible for short-haul, local, and regional deliveries of steel to customers across Ontario. Youâll operate manual-transmission straight and articulated trucks to transport rebar and structural steel safely and efficiently.<br> 

<br><strong>Core Duties</strong><br> 

<ul>
&#9;<li>Operate and drive manual-transmission straight and articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
&#9;<li>Haul structural and reinforcing steel on flatbed trailers
&#9;<li>Secure, tarp, and ensure the safety and stability of all cargo
&#9;<li>Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and load securement
&#9;<li>Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, reporting any issues promptly
&#9;<li>Complete and maintain accurate driver logbooks, inspection reports, and accident/incident reports
</ul>

<br><strong>Education / Experience</strong><br> 

<ul>
&#9;<li>Valid AZ License /Air brake (Z) endorsement
&#9;<li>Experience operating manual-transmission trucks, preferably with flatbed and steel hauling
&#9;<li>Commercial Vehicle Operatorâs Registration (CVOR) Certificate
&#9;<li>Air Brake Adjustment Certificate
&#9;<li>Criminal record check, driving record check, medical exam, drug test
&#9;<li>Sound knowledge of safe driving practices
&#9;<li>Previous experience working in an industrial environment is an asset
&#9;<li>Previous experience in machine operation is preferred
</ul>

<br><strong>Wage:</strong>&nbsp;$31.00/hr<br>
